03 / OPERATIONS
Operating procedure template.
Turn recurring work into instructions another person can follow. Start with one task, explain the handoffs, and leave room for what happens when the usual process fails.
Use the free tool ↓A PRACTICAL STARTING POINT
Document the decisions as well as the steps.
A useful procedure names the responsible role, the event that starts the task, its sequence and the expected result. Include the tools needed, where authorised instructions live and the checks that reveal a mistake. Keep passwords and customer data out of the procedure. Review it by following it against a routine example.
HOW TO USE THIS TOOL
- Choose Add a process and name a recurring task, such as publishing a product or checking an order.
- Record the role, frequency, trigger, steps, quality checks and escalation path.
- Save and review the expanded process. Export all procedures as CSV or print them in the preparation record.
Documenting a workflow does not transfer account access or contractual rights. Keep access control and any required platform, employment or privacy review as separate preparation items.
